127 Hours Movie Story in Brief

The movie 127 Hours starts with Ralston(James Franco) who was preparing himself for a canyoneering in the Canyonlands National Park in Utah. To reach his destination Ralston runs of a bare rock formation where he sees two hikers, Kristi (Kate Mara) and Megan (Amber Tamblyn) who were trying to find their way. Ralston acts on time and offers help for the pair to find an interesting route. Ralston leads them through narrow canyons. Leaving them, Raltson continues his journey through a narrow passage. The way which he traveled had boulders which were wedged between the walls of rock. As he go down, one rock is jarred loose, which made him fell down to the bottom of the canyon. Raltston became trapped himself. As he became aware that he is in trouble, Raltson screamed for help but went ineffective. As he realized the fact that he is on his own, he started recording his condition using a digital camera. Also tried with all effort to get away from the stone using his pocket multi-tool.

All efforts had gone in vain; Raltson suffered shortage of food and water, he was forced to drink his own urine. He tried all himself to cut his arms to get rid of the stone but gone in futile. His life became as miserable as all things were against him. He started thinking of his relationships and past experiences. His former lover (Clemence Poesy), family (Lissy Caplan, Treat Williams, and Kate Burton, and also the two hikers he met before his accident. He realized that, no way if left for his survival.

God was mercy to make him live for 5 days as he gathered the will power to break his forearm. He managed to split the arm with his dull knife. He managed to wraps the remains of his arm and takes a picture of the detached part which he left behind. Hi finds himself the way out of the canyon. Bringing himself down the 65-foot rock, he got the help of a family who helped him to get evacuated by helicopter.
