Devotees perform Bali Tharppanm on the banks of this river in honor of the forefathers. On Aluva Sivarathri , Devottes perform Balitharppanam in the morning and by the sun sets there are cultural programs arranged in the Manappuram, to make the devotes stay awake through the night .
