The much awaited Kochi IPL team has sorted out all their problems. They will play their first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 9th April in Jawahar Lal Nehru international stadium, Kochi. IPL 4- Kochi Tuskers Kerala
The kochi IPL team has sorted out their all problems regarding the team name, logo and their home ground. They have come up with their new name as Kochi Tuskers Kerala and now it's the time to play. Kochi Tuskers Kerala will play their first match in the IPL 4 against Roya Challengers Bangalore on 9th April in their home ground, Jawahar Lal Nehru International stadium at Kochi. All Kochi IPL team fans are eagerly waiting for the match to begin. Srilankan Player Mahela Jayawardane will lead the team. Geoffrey Lawson of Australia will coach the Kochi team players. The first match will be played between Kochi Tuskers Kerala and the Royal Challengers Bangalore on 9th April at 20 00 hrs. The BCCI didn't allow the Kochi team franchisee to change their home ground to Gujarat. This positive decision from BCCI helped the Kerala IPL fans to watch more matches at Kochi. Mahela Jayawardene is selected as the captain of the Kochi Tuskers Kerala team for the 2011 IPL. He is a very good experienced batsman from Srilanka. He was the former captain of Srilnaka. In last season, he played for Delhi Daredevils. He was the captain of Srilanka when they entered the world cup finals in 2007. He is a right hand batsman cum right arm medium pace bowler.

Steve Smith

Steve smith is an emerging international spinner from Australia. He is the only good spinner in the Australian team after Shane Warn. More than a spinner, he is also a good batsman. By the age of 21 he was in Australia's Test, one-day and Twenty20 teams, picked on promise and quickly showing the composure of a seasoned professional. His bowling average in T20 is just 17.11 with an economy rate of 7.41. His batting strike rate is 121.81 at an average of 16.91. Steve O'Keefe

Steve O'Keefe has not played many international cricket matches. But he is going to be one of the famous international players. He is a All rounder performer, but mostly concentrated to bowling. After taking 7 for 35 and scoring 61 and 47 in a first-class affair against Sri Lanka A, he got the chance to play for the Australian team. He took three wickets for 29 runs in his debut match in T20 internationals against Pakistan.
Muttiah Muralitharan

He is very happy to get selected for IPL as his performance in IPL might give him a chance to play in Australian team.
Raiphi Gomez

Raiphi is a Kerala Ranji player. He is the second kerala player after Sreesanth to sign for Kochi IPL Team this season. His agreement was for 30 lakhs. Raiphi is an attacking type player. Ravindra Jadeja was a part of the Rajasthan Royals for the last 3 IPL seasons. He is a batsman cum bowler of the Indian Team. He bats left-hand and bowls orthodox spin, Ravindra Jadeja has been playing cricket since the age of ten. He was the part of the India under 19 who were the runner up of the under 19 world cup 2006. He has a batting strike rate of 112 in T20 cricket. His bowling average is 37.3 with an economy rate of 7.4

Kedar Jadhav is an attacking batsman from the Maharashtra cricket. He scored six
fifties and one century during the 2008-09 first-class season and those who have seen him bat for Maharashtra rate him as a natural Twenty20 player. Initially he was the player of Bangalore royal challengers, but didn't get a chance to play for them. Then he was selected by the Delhi Dare Devils and he scored a superb 50 in his opening match from just 28 balls. The Kochi team coach himself called Kedar to join the team.
VVS Laxman

Laxman is a night mare for the Australian players. He is one of the best test players of India. He was a member of the Deccan Chargers for the last three IPL seasons. He was not successful as a T20 player. His batting average is just 22 with a strike rate of 115.8. The Australians, who have suffered more than most, paid the highest compliment after India's 2003-04 tour Down Under by admitting they did not know where to bowl to him.
Ramesh Powar

A stocky offspinner who is more than handy with the bat, Ramesh Powar has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket for the last four seasons, and was crucial to Mumbai's Ranji Trophy success in the 2002-03 season. His 20 wickets with his flighted stuff was useful enough, but even more crucial was the runs he contributed. He was a member of the Mumbai Indians for the last IPL season. He has also played for India. He is a batsman cum bowler. His strike rate in T20 is 107 and has taken 12 wickets at an economy rate of 6.96.
Tanmay Srivastava

Tanmay Srivastava is one of the better openers going around in Indian domestic cricket. Like many an Uttar pradesh player, he started early. Strong Under-19 performances got him a place in the Challenger Series even before he could play first-class cricket for UP. His first season with UP was not great, but he kept doing well for India Under-19, making it to the tour of South Africa where he performed strongly. In the U-19 World Cup in Malaysia same year, he finished the tournament's top-scorer with 262 runs, including a vital 43 in India's victory in the final against South Africa. He was contracted by Kings XI Punjab for the IPL, and followed it up with a strong first-class season, ending as UP's leading run-getter in 2008-09. 
R P Singh

Rudra P singh entered the India team after his astonishing performance in the Under 19 world cup in Bangladesh in 2004. Later that year he joined the conveyor belt of Indian left-arm seamers, taking 34 wickets in six Ranji Trophy games for Uttar Pradesh. His performance in last 3 IPLs were marvelous. He was one of the best bowlers in the second IPL season. So far, he has taken 79 wickets in domestic from 63 innings with a best bowling of 5/8. He was the player of Deccan Chargers for the last 3 seasons.
Vinay Kumar

Vinay Kumar was one of the team members of the T20 international world cup. He is well experienced bowler from Karnataka. After the retirement of former India players Dodda Ganesh and David Johnson, Vinay became a key member of the Karnataka pace attack. First picked for the Ranji side in 2004-05, he quickly established himself by taking more than 20 wickets in each of his first three seasons. His performance in Bangalore Challengers was appreciable. He has taken 52 wickets in T20 at an economy rate of 7.99 from 51 matches. 
Deepak Chougule

Deepak Chougule is a right handed batsman from Karnataka. This strong middle order batsman from Karnatake will play for Kochi in this season. The 26 year old Deepak has scored runs with good average and strike rate in domestic arena. The quest of the Kochi side for a good Indian batsman is somewhat satisfiable on Deepak. He has a great chance to show his skills and make way to the Indian side. He has a batting average of 32 at an strike rate of 110.98.
Parthiv Patel
Playing role: wicketkeeper

Parthiv Patel was the member of Chennai super kings for the last three seasons. His was the opener player cum wicket keeper of Chennai team. He has played many major matches for the Indian Team. He became the Test cricket's youngest wicketkeeper - at 17 years, 153 days - when called up to replace the injured Ajay Ratra for the second Test at Trent Bridge.
Sushant Marathe
Playing role: Wicket keeper
Batting style: Right hand
Sushant Marathe is a wicket keeper cum batsman of the Maharashtra team. He was a player of the Mumbai Indians in the last IPL season. His performance in the BCCI Corporate Trophy gave him the path to play in IPL. Marathe smashed an unbeaten 80 in the semi-final against ONGC and followed it up with a handy 36 off 32 balls in the final against the likes of RP Singh and Harbhajan Singh. He was used as a specialist number three batsman in that tournament
