In a team sport, the jersey worn by the team members gives an identity and becomes the face of the team. The colour of the jersey is also included in the rest of the team kit, including bags. What's more, fans of a particular team then get the opportunity to show where their loyalty is - by painting their faces with the team colours, by wearing team jerseys & caps, by waving banners painted in the team colours, etc. It thus all begins with the jersey!

One of the new IPL teams playing in season 4 is talent-packed team based in Kerala. Named the Kochi Tuskers, this team recently unveiled its team colours.

The Kochi Tuskers Kerala team jersey color is an orange colour with a slight saffron tinge. It is not as bright as the colours of the Netherlands World Cup cricket team. At the shoulders of the jersey is a dash of colour too - violet to be precise - which is also the colour of the sleeves and the collar. This breaks the uniform monotony of the orange colour. The wicket keeper's gloves and those of batsmen, too, will be of the same colour. The cricket trousers will have a slightly darker orange hue from that of the jersey.
