First prepare the following items:

Uruli or Silver/Copper Vessel
White Kasavu Pudava / Mundu/ Neryathu
Silver/Gold coin
Gold Ornaments
Little rice
Kanivellari( yellow Cucumber)
vettila
Golden Colored Mango fruit
Halved Jackfruit
Halved Coconuts
Aranmula Vaalkannadi
Statue or Picture of Krishna
Nilavilakku (Oil Lamp)
and Finally Konnapoovu and some other flowers

If you are ready with the items for Vishu Kani, first arrange the things in Uruli. First pit vegetables, fruits and rice in the Uruli. The ornaments and clothes should be on the side along with Aranmula Kannadi to watch your face on it. Try to get some fresh white clothes with Kasavu kara and never use unwashed or used clothes for Vishu Kani. Arrange the Konnapooand other flowers. place the garlanded deity of Lord Krishna behind the Kani. Arrange the Nilavilakku in such a way that it lamps before the diety. try to put 3 or 5 thiri in the oil lamp. Never put even number of thiris in Nilavilakk. Vishu Kani should be prepared on then night before Vishu day. It will be prepared by the senior lady in the house. On the early morning in Vishu day, master of the house first see the Kani and then the other family members. On the vishu day, traditional Vishu Kanji will be prepared.
