Naadan Fish Molee curry


½ kg boneless fish fillets
3 large onions (cut into pieces)
3 tomatoes (cut into pieces)
4 green chillies
2 tsp coriander powder
2 cups coconut milk
2 tsp white vinegar
1 small piece ginger
2 tsp chilli powder
A pinch of turmeric powder
2 tsp oil
Salt to taste


Firstly, mix the chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt with little water and marinate the fish with this paste. Set this marinade aside. On a flat dish, add ½ tsp oil and arrange the fish on it. Cook over slow flame till the fish is white and firm. In a large vessel, add the rest of the oil and fry the onions till soft. Add tomatoes and coriander powder and fry some more. Place the fish pieces on top and pour 1 cup diluted coconut milk over it. Cover and cook over a slow fire. When the gravy is thickened, add the thick coconut milk and simmer. Add vinegar and take it off the fire. Finally, season the gravy with curry leaves and fresh coriander leaves.
