Aakash Tablet Computer

Aakash, the world's cheapest tablet has been launched by India in October 2011. It is developed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Rajasthan). The Akaash Tablet Computer was launched by Kapil Sibal (Telecom and Educational Minister ) at Delhi. The brand name of Aakash tablet is UbiSlate7. It is manufactured by DataWind, based in Montreal, Canada. DataWind is the developers of wireless web access products and owned by Suneet Singh Tuli.

Specifications and Features of Aakash Tablets

The Android tablet has seven inch resistive touch screen with resolution 800x480. But it only weighs 350 grams. Important hardware specification of Aakash can be see here. It has internal 256MB Random access memory with 2GB Flash memory and it will support external storage capacity 2GB to 32GB. It have Connexant Graphics accelerator and HD Video processor with operating frequency 366Mhz. Battery of Akash tablet lasts about 180 minutes, more over it supports Ac adapter in 200- 240 range. GPRS and Wi -FI facility can use very easily by this tablet mobile. Akash provides a USB port, Audio in and Audio out ports. According to our wishes we can install about 150000 application and high class games will support by this tablet. Number of educational and productive software can install in it. DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, ODT, ODP, PDF viewer, Text editor are the supported document formats. MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI, FLV are the video formats in this tablet. MP3, AAC, AC3, WAV, WMA are important audio formats. PNG, JPG, BMP and GIF images can see by this mobile. Aakash tablets provide separate application for watching you tube videos. Car charger, Keyboard case , External antenna are important accessories with Akash, So we can convert it to laptop, if need. It provides 2GB package for just 98 per month. Price Details of Aakash Tablets

The original price of the tablet is Rs 2999, Central Government had been decided to give it through educational institution just 1750 Rupees. Remaining cash will carry by Central Government as Subsidy.
