Sohan Roy's DAM 999 is going to be a mega hit in the Box Office with actors from India and Hollywood. The movie is made based on an award winning short Documentary DAMs - The Lethal Water Bombs and the a disaster took place in China long back in 1975. The movie has found its place in Oscar library before its official release in theatres. Indian made movies getting into Oscars is not extraordinary for us, but DAM 999 is the first movie to enter the library even before its theatrical release anywhere around the globe. The Oscar library has selected the screen play of Dam 999 as part of its Permanent Core Collections which are used for the purpose of research. The movie is made based on a documentary named DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs. Long back in 1975, around 25,000 people had died in a Dam disaster called Banqiao dam in China. As per a recent report most the dams on the earth are under threat and can cause a big calamity which takes away the life of thousands. So in his movie, he tries to show the catastrophe a Man made Dam can cause to the human life. The Dam 999 revolves around a 100 year old Dam. He links the Dam to the life of nine different people. Each person is depicting nine different types of emotions (Navarasam). This close relation of these nine characters and the similar ending of these characters and the dam is the soul of the story.

As mentioned 9 main characters are appearing in the movie depicting nine different emotions of life. Bollywood actor Ashish Vidyarthi appearing as a antagonist is representing Bheebhatsa Rasa. Veera Rasa is portrayed by Linda Arsenio, a young model from Texas. She is appearing as a TV journalist in the movie. Bollywood star Rajith Kapur represent the role of Shankaran who portrays Shantha Rasa. Hollywood star Joshua Fredric Smith portrays the Hasya Rasa and he is the captain of the vessel in this movie. Kollywood actor Vinay Rai represents Roudra Rasa as a mariner in the movie. Hollywood hazel eyed beauty Jaala Pickering characterizes Bhayanaka rasa. South Indian film star Vimala Raman is depicting Karuna Rasa. Bengali actress Megha Burman is playing the character of a Pakistani Lady who plays the romance (Shringara Rasa) in the movie.
