Arabiyum Ottakavum P. Madhavan Nayarum aks Oru Marubhoomi Kadha is the latest Malayalam movie released in Kerala as a Christmas entertainer. Director Priyadarshan is back in Malayalam after a short gap along with his all time mate super star Mohanlal. When the duo joins for a movie lovers has no second option to keep them away from the theatre. The viewers have a trust in Priyan- Mohanlal team who has rendered a hand full of hit movies. P.Madhavan Nair (Mohanlal) is employed in Gulf as an accountant in the company of an Arab (Shakti Kapoor). During his days Madhavan meets Meenakshi(Lakhmi). Here starts the real challenge making life so hectic for him. He falls in love with Meenakshi. But later meenakshi betrays him which brings the biggest disaster in life. The entry of Camel Abdu (Mukesh) brings chaos in the life of Madhavan as Abdu comes with an intention of looting money from him. During their journey the car got wrecked in the desert. There will be high expectations from the audience about a movie directed by Priyadarshan is on the screen. The expectation will have double power while Mohanlal joins the party. The audience too remembers Chandralekha and Kakkakuyil, hit movies which have given us some happy moments.
Going through the movie director Priyadarshan who is the king of slapstick comedy tries his own way to tickle the audience but fails to impress to some extend. Mohalal as Madhavan has given full dedication to his character bringing little life to the movie. Mukesh as Ottakam has done his part supporting the character of lal. Bhavana as Eliana enthralls the audience. Hats off to the cinematographer, for giving the best capturing the natural beauty of Dubai. The special attractions are the beautiful desert scenes, bike chase etc. The songs too have been taken in an eye-catching mode. Suraj, Mammokoya and Innocent keeps the audience tight packed in their seats adding humor at regular intervals. Movie Critical Review
The movie which was not well prepared fails to satisfy the audience in total. Even though the movie has some good moments to brighten your face, it cannot be said to be a healthy movie. Truly appreciating Priyadarshan for his come back in Malayalam but cannot stop to say the movie is not up to mark of a normal viewer. The story has lagged a lot with no sense of adding sentiments in few occasions bringing down the power of the movie. Scenes were bolted together dragging the movie till the end. The songs will give little refreshment to the mind.
Any way the movie is expected to satisfy the audience who wish to enjoy a day with the family in the theatre.
