All Indian citizens are celebrating their 63rd Republic Day on 26th January 2012. Republic Day of India commemorates the day on which the constitution of India came into force after their Independence from British rule. For the memory of that day, every year a grand parade is held in the capital city of India. The event starts with India's prime minister laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate for the memory of the great soldiers who sacrificed their life to save our nation. After the president joins with the dignitaries at Rajpath. Then the president hoist the National flag as the National Anthem is played followed by a 21-gun salute is given. Then awards and medals of bravery are given to the people from the armed forces and also to civilians. Then the president takes the salute of different regiments of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force march past. Then people from different parts of the nation shows vibrant displays of their culture.
