Pathiramanal is the latest action malayalam movie directed by M.Padmakumar. Jayasurya,Unni Mukundan,Rima kallingal are in lead roles. Film is written by Babu Janardhanan and produced by Dhanush Productions.The movie is all about a private financer Jeevan(Jayasurya).

Pathiramanal is one film which had to change the central character many times. The film had Prithviraj at the helm some time back when the movie originally started out. But soon Jayasuriya was introduced as the central character in the film. The shooting started and the movie was going at its full pace in production, an injury to Jayasuriya [during the shooting of the Jayasuriya film Vadhyaar] hit the deadlock to its production.

And now it is decided that the young hero Unni Mukundan will join the cast and complete the sequences. Originally it was planned for Jayasuriya to do a double role playing both the son and the dad. Now as Jayasuriya had already completed the father part , it is upon Unni Mukundan to play the son in the film.

Story Line
The movie is all about Jeevan who is a money financier. His mother was raped long time back by a police constable played by Pradeep Rawat. The story is about his revenge on the police constable and the in line story with Sara [ played by Rima Kallingal ] who is in fact the daughter of this police constable.

The film story is entirely packed with high emotional scenes. The movie is directed by director Padmakumar and he is known for his variation in theme. Padmakumar ha earlier directed the Mohanlal film Shikkar which was a hit at the box office. All his films Vasthavam, Vargam, Parunthu had themes that were socially related and the heroes playing a character with slight negative shades.

It was this quality in his films that made him popular among the film goers.
Unni Mukundan seems to be on a roll in Malayalam film industry with back to back films. He have been lucky in receiving some big projects when some of the established stars in Malayalam had withdrawn. The much touted Vaisakh film MalluSingh and now Pathiramanal.

The film will have the Ghajini fame Pradeep Rawat playing the villain after his debut in Malayalam in the film china Town. Pradeep Rawat plays the constable and plays the father to the heroine Rima Kallingal. Pathiramanal is shot in various locations in and near Pathiramanal which is a small island in Alapuzha. The film hence derives its name.
