Popular actor Dileep has always dared doing unique roles in Malayalam cinema. Kunjikkoonan, Chandupottu and Pachakkuthira are a few of the films in which he appeared as entirely different characters. Once again, he is coming with such a brave attempt, as Mayamohini. Mayamohini will present Dileep in a female character throughout. The film has already grabbed the attention of people through posters and design works. Jose Thomas is the director of the movie.

Biju Menon, who has been riding high with different characters, will be doing the role of husband of Dileep.

The story revolves around an ancestral family called Vadakedathu tharavadu. Appumama is the head of the family and is a bachelor. Bala Krishnan is his cousin and the heir. He is very innocent and introvert. His only friend is Lakshmi Narayanan, an advocate. With the support of Lakshmi Narayanan, he starts a business but it goes on to be big failure. Balakrishnan get disappointed very much. He consults an astrologer and he says that if Bala Krishnan marries a woman born in Chothi sign, he will be succesful in life. Hearing this, Lakshmi Narayanan and Bala Krishnan set off in search a such a woman.

After a long search, they find woman. Her name is Mayamohini. The following events in their life are portrayed in the movie. Biju Menon appears as Bala Krishnan and Babu Raj plays the role of Lakshmi Narayanan.

Dileep plays Mohini. Mythili and Lakshmi Rai are the heroines. Vijaya Raghavan plays the role of Appumama. Kalabhavan Shajon, Madhu Warrier, Mohan Sharma, Santhosh, Balachandran Chullikad are also in the cast. The film is scripted by Udayakrishna- Sibi K Thomas duo. Berny-Ignatius team handles the music department. The lyrics are penned by Vayalar Saratchandra Varma. P Sukumar and Madhu Warrier produce the movie under the banner of Color Factory. The movie Mayamohini will be released on April 7, 2012.
