The boats in this race are locally known as 'Chundan'. This race includes a participation of over 100 men in each boat and there may be 10 or 12 these kinds of boats which is having 100 persons. Out of these 100 people 25 may be singers and 75 may be the oarsmen. This boat race is generally known as Snake boat race or 'Vallamkali'.
