Idea Star Singer
Idea star singer is the reality competition show on the Malayalam channel Asianet. The name of the program was star singer and Idea was added with name due to sponsorship from Idea cellular limited. Currently Idea Star Singer season 4 is shown from 8.30 pm to 10.00 pm on Monday to Friday. There will be three permanent judges in each season and special celebrity guests in each weak for judging the performance of the contestants. The winner is selected after tough competition and the viewers of the program can vote for there singer. Idea star singer has become the best reality game show in Malayalam.

Idea Star singer 2006 or Idea Star Singer season 1 was the first part of the Idea star singer reality show. The price of idea star singer was a flat worth Rs. 1 crore for the best male singer and the best feamle singer. M.G Sreekumar, Usha Uthup and Sharath were the judges of idea star singer 2008. The anchor was Remya Ravindren initially and later she was replaced by Renjini Haridas. Vivek Anand was selected as the best male singer and Sonia was selected as the best female singer in the grand finale of idea star singer 2008 held on 25th April 2009.

Idea star singer 2009 or idea star singer season 4 was inaugurated by malayalam actress Navya Nair on 4th May 2009.The anchor of idea star singer 2009 is Ranjini Haridas and the judges are music director Sharath, playback singers K.S Chitra and M.G Sreekumar. The celebrity guests involved in idea star singer 2009 are Jagadish, Praveena, Shwetha Menon, Thilakan, Vimala raman, Vinaya Prasad,Suresh Gopi and Muktha.
