Director fazil's son Fahad and Rupa Manjari are playing lead roles in this movie, along with them Manu ,Praveen,Prajin and Aryan are in the important roles. It is Fahad's come back to lead roles in Malayalam movies, his played the central character in Fazils "Kayyethum Doorath "in 2002 which labeled him as shabby but he made an impressive comeback with Ranjiths Kerala cafe. Rupa Manjari , "Thiru thiru Thuru Thuru" fame is making her debut in the Malayalam industries. It is the second movie of many youngsters Like Praveen who acted in Sathyan Anthikkadu's Bagyadevatha and Prajin, thriller fame. Story line
Tournament belongs to the category of Road Movie This is the story of a bunch of 6 friends they are cricketers as well traveling from Cochin to attend a IPL Match in Bangalore by road since they miss their fight, they are joined by their friends and Freelance photographer Aswathy played by Rupa Majari in their journey, it is about the journey which turns their life and their experience, did someone said" Saroja", the story seems to have some resemblance to Venkatt prabu's Saroja (2008).

It is Directed by lal that is the real plus for this movie, more than that it is produced and Distributed by lal creations, lal is giing his gurus son a second chance through this movie. Other good thing about this movie is the presence of shanu, he is a changed actor you can't see the shanu of Kayyethum Doorathu" in his Latest movies, he is matured as an actor, his performance in his last movie Cock Tail, Kerala Cafe and Pramani ensures it.
The songs by are wonderful especially the song" Nila Nila", and song are shot spectacularly by Venu, the song sequences give a sense of the maestro lal Jose's song sequences. The visuals are rich and Colour full, it will be one of his the best works of the cinematographer Venu ISC, the shots of back waters are done explicitly well.
