Kochi IPL Team Franchise co-owner Vivek Venugopal on 18the January 2011 announced that the name, jersey and logo in of Kochi IPL team will be revealed in February 2011. Vivek Venugopal added that the franchise will give two more weeks to the fans to suggest a suitable name for the Kochi IPL team.

Vivek Venugopal' words-"Nothing has been decided so far and what he said is his liking. We will give two more weeks for our fans to suggest a suitable name and then we will decide. All such things will be announced here itself in early February."

Lawson, Kerala IPL Team Coach, liked to have the team name to be Kochi Tigers. Lawson also added that the chance of Mahela Jayawardhana to become the Captain of Kochi IPL Team is very high.
