The current barrier which stops the processes of Kochi Smart city project is conflicts over freehold rights over 12 per cent of the land outside the Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Dubai Tecom Investments was requested the free-hold land rights of 12 cent land. According to the Dubai clients, they would get freehold rights over 12 per cent which is approximate around 30 acres, of the project and able to do real estate dealings on the land.
