Kochi Tuskers Kerala is the first team from Kerala to appear for the India Premier League. They will play their opening match against Bangalore Royal challengers on 9th April at Kochi. Former Australian player Geoff Lawson will coach the Kochi team. Mahela Jayawardene, former captain of Srilankan cricket team will lead the Kochi IPL team. After many controversies the management has decided Cochin Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium as their home ground. Kochi Tuskers have set up a strong team to play their first IPL season.
