Filca International Film Festival 14 May 2011
The 2011 Filca International Film Festival will be held at Trivandrum on May 14. The functions will be held at kalabhavan theatre & is inaugurated by Girish kasaravalli, who is the famous film maker in Kannada language. The Filca (Film Lovers Cultural Association) International Film festival will be held on May 14 at Trivandrum which is the capital city of Kerala. This is the eleventh edition of Filca. Another important fact is that this event will be inaugurated by the famous Kannada film maker Girish kasaravalli. This is a seven day festival. Remember that the functions will be held at kalabhavan theatre. Among the above mentioned films, the opening film of the Filca film fest will be Daughter-in-law, which is a Kazakhstan film. The important feature of the film Marthanda varma is that it is the first silent movie made in the language of Malayalam. In the world movie section of the filca film fest, films like Inception, Fitzcarraldo, The Social Network, The Ghost Writer & A Mighty Heart will be screened. But in the Malayalam section, movies like Sadgamaya, Umma, TD Dasan Std VI B & Kuttysrank will be screened. There is also one more category which is the Indian cinema today section. Remember that films like Angadi theruvu, Peepli live, Dhobi Ghutt, Natarang & Udaan will be screened in this section.
