K. Jayakumar, Additional Chief Secretary has been selected for the Ratna Award, It should be noted that the Award has been instituted by the newly formed Bharanikavu Sivakumar Memorial Trust, formed in memory of the famous writer & music director late Bharanikavu Sivakumar.
As we all know K. Jayakumar is a famous lyricist who had captured the hearts of all Malayalees in Kerala. Apart from being an additional chief secretary & a lyricist, K. Jayakumar is also a script writer, painter & a poet. As a 1978 Kerala cadre batch of IAS, he began his career in civil service in the year 1980 as an Assistant Collector. Previously he had also occupied positions like Director of tourism department, Kozhikode District Collector, Director of public instructions in Kerala & many more.
The main aim of the Bharanikavu Sivakumar Memorial Trust is to select some best television programs & to make a documentary on the life of Bharanikavu Sivakumar. The Ratna award that comprises of a citation, a cash prize of Rs 10,001 & a statuette will be presented to K. Jayakumar on 20 September 2011 at Mascot hotel. Official website of K. Jayakumar
