Zero waste project in Sabarimala


As part of the ‘Zero waste Sabarimala’ project, Kerala government decided to give maximum comfort arrangements to people visiting Sabarimala region. The cleaning program will start on October 2nd. Read more for further details.

Before the Sabarimala season begins, the cleaning program will start on October 2nd onwards. This cleaning program is conducting as the part of the 'Zero Waste Sabarimala' Project. Zero Waste project is for the removalof the waste in Pamba and Sabarimala regions. State Devaswom Minister V. S. Sivakumar announced that Pamba region will clean within 2 weeks from Octorber 2nd.

The decision was taken in the meeting of 'Sabarimala Authority's Committee's' on the discussion about Sabarimala's safety arrangements; and the Chief Minister Oomen Chandy lead the meeting. Along with Chief Minister, Ministers K.M. Mani, Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan, K.B. Ganesh Kumar, Ibrahim Kunje, Committee Chairman K. Jayakumar, Devaswom Board President Adv. M. Rajagopalan Nair, D.G.P Jacob Punnoos etc were in the meeting.

The meeting decided to does the suggestions of Justice Hariharan Nair Commission report. Sabarimala related roads' maintenance will complete befor October 31st. the budget for this is Rs. 63.5 crores.

Although on the Sabarimala season, maximum arrangements will be giving to people coming there. The Government promised that they will complete the safety and maintenance works before the season begins.
