Samsung has launched Galaxy Note in India. The Samsung Galaxy Note or GT- N7000 is the new product in the Galaxy series. It is a tablet-smartphone, that is a hybrid of a tablet computer and a smartphone. However, it is mainly considered to be a smartphone.
Features and Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Note measures 145.8 x 82.95 x 9.65 mm in size and weighs about 178 grams. It is one of the thinnest among the phones. The Galaxy Note is powered with a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 SoC processor of 1.4 GHz that helps to run the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with TouchWiz UI 4.0 finely. The mobile has a RAM of 1 GB.
The candybar phone has a 5.3 inch touch screen with the Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The screen can display more than 16 million colours.
The phone has a good camera of 8.0 Mega Pixels with features like LED flash, Auto Focus, Geo tagging, Digital zoom, Touch Focus and Image Stabilization. Pictures of various modes like Action Shot, Panorama Shot, Beauty, Smile Shot, Share Shot and more can be framed. The pictures will be of high quality as photos of resolution upto 3264 × 2448 pixels can be taken. The camera can record full HD 1080P videos at the speed of 30 fps. There is a Secondary Camera of 2 Mega Pixels that can take pictures upto 1600 × 1200 pixels resolution. The Galaxy Note has an Internal Memory of 150 MB. A 2 GB microSD Card is provided with it. The memory can be expanded upto 32GB.
For data transfer, there is Bluetooth v3.0 connectivity with EDR Stereo and Mini USB v2.0. The 3G internet connectivity has both HSDPA and HSUPA. There also WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and DLNA.
The Ambient light sensor, 3-Axis Gyroscope Sensor, SWYPE Integration, Proximity Sensor, Gorilla Glass Display, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotation and Mali-400MP GPU are some of the main features of the phone. The other facilities include Exchange ActiveSync, Social Hub, Readers Hub, Music Hub, Game Hub and Samsung ChatOn. The apps of Android Market, G-mail, Google Maps, G-Talk, YouTube and more give more strength to the phone.
The phone comes with a 3.5mm stereo headset jack. There is Stereo FM Radio with RDS. For positioning, A-GPS system and GLONASS system also have been installed in the mobile.
The media player supports video formats MPEG4, H.264, H.263, WMV, DivX, Xvid and audio formats MP3, AAC, AMR, WMA, WAV, FLAC and OGG.
The most unique feature of Samsung Galaxy Note is a built-in stylus , which is called the 'S Pen'. This can be used in a variety of apps especially in which needs precise results.
The Battery of Li-Ion 2500 mAh can give a Standby life upto 570 Hours on 2G and 390 Hours on 3G. A talk time of upto 13 Hours on 2G and 4.6 Hours 3G are also available.
Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Note is now available in Kerala markets. It holds a price of Rs. 34990. Samsung has announced GT-N7003, a cheaper variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note. The main difference is it has a single core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255T processor.
