Malavika S Nair who shot to fame after her majestic performances in Oomakkuyil Padumbol and Kamal's Karuthapakshikal is gearing up for her next outing. Twice the recipient of Kerala State Film Award for the best child artiste Malavika will play a prominent role in 'Akkaldamayile Pennu', the directorial debut of Jayaram Kailas.
Scripted by Sinoj Nedumgandan, the movie is based on a real life incident which will also have Swetha Menon and Vineeth donning important roles. Malavika plays a teenager and daughter to Shwetha Menon. Shwetha gives life to bold woman who takes up a job usually done by men to earn daily bread for her small family. The hardships faced by the mother and daughter are being unveiled in the movie. The movie is being produced by Kasim under the banner of Pearl Media and Productions. The shooting of 'Akkaldamayile Pennu' is carried out at the outskirts of Vagamon.
Swetha, known for picking up bold characters will try to follow the way less travelled by experimenting with her role. With a different story line and unexplored situations, 'Akkaldamayile Pennu' will truly be a visual delight for the moviegoers. Malavika, currently being a class X student decided to take up this project for the freshness in the script and innovative performance-oriented role. After Oomakkuyil Padumbol, Malavika was looking forward for a good script which could really explore her inner talent.
Her performances in Oomakuyil Padumbol directed by Siddique Chenthamangallor and karuthapakshikal helmed by Kamal rewarded her Best Child artist award from the state government. 'Akkaldamayile Pennu' will bring her back to the film industry after a gap of three years.
