Kappad is a place which is benefited with both natural beauty and historical importance. Kappad beach is the land that marked a new history in the Indian history.

Kappad is a place which is benefited with both natural beauty and historical importance. Kappad beach is the land that marked a new history in the Indian history.In 1498, Portuguese sailor Vasco Da Gama set his feet in Kappad and that led to an era of new relationship between Indians and the Portuguese. Now Kappad is crowded with tourists who want to know about the history of these place and those who enjoys the natural beauty of the sea.There is only a small pillar to reveal the history with the inscription "Vasco Da Gama landed here, Kappakkadavu, in the year 1498".Other attraction in Kappad is the small Devi temple on the rock. And the boat ride through Elathur and Kallai river adds pleasure to the tourists.

Location ; 15 km from Kozhickode town,near to Koyilandy
