Significance of Kappad Beach
Kappad Beach is the one of the most famous beaches of Kerala. The beach is also famous for both beauty and historical importance. The great explorer Vasco Da Gama landed here along with other 170 sailors in May 20, 1498. There is a monument in Kappad Beach stating, 'The great explorer Vasco Da Gama landed here in 1948'. It was during the reign of Zamorins (Samuthiris) they came to Kappad Beach.

Later many foreigners came here for the famous spices of Malabar. Soon they became friends of Maharajas of Kerala. This has put the way for them to take hold over Indian spice market. The beat way to reach this beach is by boating through Korapuzha River. Many tourists including foreings comes here to enjoy the beauty of sinking sun to red sea. It's a mind refreshing scene to be washed. It's a bestplace to hand out your all worries and tensions.

The main Attractions of Kappad Beach
One of the main attractions Kappad Beach is the sea lagoons and back water drive. Tourist can go along with local fisherman in traditional boats for fishing. While boating through Korapuzha River one can enjoy the scenic beauty of green fields, lagoons, lakes, hill side views, old temples and churches. That temple which could be seen while boating is build 800 years ago. The sail through Korapuzha would be the unforgettable event in your life. The sunset view from here is also very charming. It just fills our mind with great energy and refreshment. There are few parks nearby- lions Club and children's park.
