T.N.Prathapan is the congress candidate for Kodungallur Constituency which is in Thrissur district for Kerala Assembly Elections 2011.He entered politics through K.S.U.He was selected as MLA both in 2001 and 2006 from Nattika Constituency in Thrissur District. Now he wrested from there and compete in Kodungallur.Prathapan came into political limelight when he captured Nattika, a traditional CPI fortress, defeating seasoned leader of CPI and former Agriculture Minister Krishnan Kaniyamparambil in 2001. His strong influence in the coastal belt cracked the traditional CPI vote bank. He repeated the victory in 2006.
