Mammiyoor Temple, situated near blessed Guruvayoor temple is one of the important Shiv temples located in Kerala. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva lies on the way to Punnathurkotta near Kottapadi. It is only at a distance 1 km from Guruvayoor temple and attract lots of pilgrims from all over the globe. According to rituals, every devotee who goes to Guruvayoor Temple is supposed to go to Mammiyoor Temple too.

Main diety in Mammiyoor Temple is Lord Shiva facing east in rowdra bhava. You can also see here idols of Vishnu, Bhagavathy, Ganapathy, Subhramanian and Nagas. Today, Mammiyoor Templeis under the control of Malabar Devaswom Board. Thiruvathira and Shivarathri are the two main festivals celebrated in Mammiyoor Temple. Offerings done to Lord Shiva include pinvilakku, dhara, koovalamala, vedi vazhipadu and abishekams. Where as, offerings done to Lord Vishnu consist of palpayasam and kalabhabishekam. As per rules, only Hindus are allowed inside temple premises. Beautiful sculptors and ancient wall paintings in Mammiyoor Temple had grabbed hearts of visitors.
