After a harthal in Thiruvanthapuram by LDF,a motor vehicle's strike is announced by the State Labor Coordination Committee. They announced a 12 hours strike from 6am to 6pm on September 19th Monday. The motor vehicle's strike is against the increased rate of petrol.
After Onam, harthal is coming back. Kerala State Labor Coordination Committee announced the motor vehicle's strike on 19th September against the increased price of petrol in state. This will be a 12 hours strike from 6am to 6pm.
Kerala State labor Coordination Committee Convener Sri Elamaram Kareem announced the strike news in press meet. He said that bus, auto-rickshaw, taxi, tempo, such motor vehicles will strike. The continuous increasing of petrol price is badly affecting the motor vehicle services. Petrol rate is increased by additional 23 Rupees by the last year.
Central Government gave the Petroleum companies the right to increase the rate as they like; Mr. Kareem said. But this is so cruel to the common people and those who live with the vehicle services. They are planning to conduct a national strike against this problem; he said.
Motor vehicle's strike exclude the essential services like Milk, Newspaper, Hospital etc. Mr. Kareem said they will not stop the private vehicles on that day.
