Kerala CM to meet Central Ministers to take up development issues


Kerala Chief Minister, Sri Oommen Chandy with his other cabinet ministers left to Delhi to meet the union Ministers to discuss regarding the development issues in Kerala. The Chief Minister will be meeting several Central Ministers including Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Defence Minister A. K. Antony and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar.

Kerala Kerala Chief Minister, Sri Oommen chandy with Industrial Minister P K Kunhalikutty , Finance Minister K M Mani, Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed, Minister for Rural Development and Planning K C Joseph, Agriculture Minister K P Mohanan and Minister for Panchayats and Social Welfare M K Muneer left to Delhi to meet the central ministers to discuss various issues relating the development Progress in Kerala. Chief Minister and Industrial Minister went to Hyderabad to attend a meeting while other Ministers flew directly to Delhi.

Earlier Chief Minister had planned to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. But currently both of them are under foreign tour. The the group is planning to meet other Ministers including Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Defence Minister A. K. Antony and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar. The ministry has made a long list demands that to be presented before the Union Ministers. This includes eco-restoration programme for Attapady, allocation of more for public distribution and clearance of schemes for disaster management and Central investment in various sectors.

Two days before, Chief Minister had arranged a meeting with Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi to set the priorities for the development of railway in the state. Earlier the ministry had announced their 100 days progress and developments to the media.

Chief Minister had planned to meet the Central Ministers last month. But the programme was postponed in view of fast by Anna Hazare. KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala and UDF Convener P P Thankachan will also join CM for the meeting.
