KSRTC bus rammed into a roadside temple at Thampanoor in Trivandrum. According to the reports, one person was killed and 5 other people got injured in the accident. Police informed that the bus going towards Karamana from East Fort lost control and swerved to its right ramming into the Sree Thampurankavu Siddhi Vinayaka temple. Preliminary reports states that the accident took place as the bus driver lost the control over the bus due to break failure.
The dead has been identified as Renju(23) hailing from Panayamuttam. The injured people are admitted in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College hospital. State Transport Minister VS Sivakumar visited the accident site and announced financial help to the dead and injured people.
Since the preliminary report says that the accident is because of the break failure, the government should take some actions to upkeep the mechanical conditions of the state buses. Still a lot of substandard buses are running short services in most of the districts.
