The new latex factory of the Kodumon group of rubber plantations under the Plantation Corporation of Kerala will be inaugurated at Kodumon near Konni by Oommen Chandy, chief minister of Kerala on 30 September 2011. K. P. Mohanan, Minister of Agriculture will preside over the function & Adoor Prakash, Minister of Health will inaugurate the effluent treatment plant that is attached to the factory. During this function, various awards instituted by the corporation will be presented to the winners. Best estate award will be presented by Anto Antony MP & best tapper award will be presented by Chittaym Gopakumar MLA.
It should be noted that T. J. Anjalose, the former chairman of the corporation will present the education award while Babu George, District Panchayat President will distribute the certificates to the workers who have completed training in tapping of latex. Other important members who will address the function include district collector P. Venugopal, K. Ananthagopan(communist party of India(Marxist) district secretary), district congress committee president P. Mohanraj, Mundappally Thomas(communist party of India district secretary), P. Vijayamma(District Panchayat Vice-President) & Jose Kanjirathummoottil(Janata Dal District President).
