For overcoming the rush in trains during Navami or Pooja days Railway has introduced some special trains during Pooja season. The Pooja special trains are Mangalore central- Chennai central super fast special train (via Coimbatore) and Chennai central- Nagercoil super fast special train (Via Erode, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Thiruvanathapuram).
06088 Mangalore central- Chennai central super fast special train (via Coimbatore) will start from Mangalore on October 6 at 8:30 pm and reaches Chennai central on October 7 at 12:25 pm. The 06087 Chennai central- Mangalore central super fast special train will start from Chennai central on October 5 at 8:45 pm and reaches Mangalore central on October 6 at 1 pm. The train will contain 13 AC tier coaches. In Kerala the train will have stops at Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Thiroor, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Tellicherry, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasargod.
The 06089 Chennai central- Nagercoil super fast special train (Via Erode, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Thiruvanathapuram) will starts at October 5 at 11:30 pm from Chennai Central and reaches Nagercoil on October 6 at 5 pm. The train will be having stops in Kerala at Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam town, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayamkulam, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, Neyyattinkara, Kulathoor and Eraniel.
