All India Radio to broadcast series on the Rubber Board Companies

The All India Radio will broadcast a 22 episode series on the activities of companies that is jointly promoted by Rubber Board & the Rubber Producers Societies. The program started on 9th October 2011. This is a special broadcast that is scheduled on all Sundays at 6:50 PM in the Vayalum Veedum(Farm & Home) program of All India Radio. Another fact is that this broadcast marks the silver jubilee year of the formation of RPS's. It should be noted that this Rubber Producers Societies were promoted by the Rubber Board in a view to empower the village level organizations. As most people know, more than 80% of rubber plantations are dominated by those small holdings.

With the equity participation of the Rubber Board & Rubber Producers Societies, there are 7 processing as well as 12 trading companies. Some of the major activities of those companies include processing & marketing of rubber as well as rubber wood, distribution of agricultural inputs & production as well as distribution of quality planting materials.
