Simhasanam is an upcoming movie from the action thriller director Shaji Kailas after the completion of King and commissioner. This film handles the story of attachments of a father and his son. The emerging superstar in south India, Prithviraj will do the central character of the film as son and the role of father is handled by Sai Kumar. The film is produced by Chandhrashekharan under the banner of Malavika production. This is the second film that distributed by the Malavika production. Apart from Pritviraj and Sai Kumar Vandana, Aiswarya, Thilakan, Siddhique, Manianpillai Raju is the others who played major roles in this film. The director himself has written the script of this film. The project of Shaji kailas previous film Reghupathy Raghava Rajaram with Pritviraj was failed in halfway of making, because of financial crisis. This is a real comeback for the Prithviraj in this year.

Chandragiri Tharavadu (family house) is the famous family house in the village. The head of this family house is Madhavan Nair and his son's name is Arjun. There is nothing happen in this family house without knowing Madhavan Nair. The things occur not only in house but also in the village. All the decision about bad or good is taken by Madhavan Nair in that village. Arjun who was the son of Madhavan Nair studied in Manipal University. Sai Kumar made the role of Madhavan Nair and Pritviraj as the son Arjun. The story mainly deals with the attachment of them and also the problems occurred due to several reasons. The death of Madhavan Nair in an unexpected situation and the responsibility that played by Madhavan Nair cames under the head of his son and the problems regarding this are going ahead on the film. Thilakan has played a role of Bishop in this film. Vandana and Aishwaray are the heroines of this film. Kunjan played the role of Karyasthan as Pisharadi in this film, who assist Madhavan Nair. Biju Pappan played the role of Jamal who are the right hand of both Madhavan nair and the son Arjun.

Prthiviraj comes for the shooting of this film from the set of his Hindi film Ayya. Rani mukherji is the heroine of that film. That film is an off beat film; any how some actions are there in that film. He has goes to Mumbi for completing the shoot of that film along with this film shoot.

The shooting this film is carried out on Palakkad district and neighbourhood place. The famous varikkasshery mana, which gives birth for so many hits in Malayalam films, is treated as the family house Chandragiri. The art director Boban has improvised this house as a new one by his artistic creativity. Art director Boban is the common art director of films of Shaji Kailas. VishnuNarayanan handles the camera in this film. This is the second project of him as an independent cameraman. Marthandan the chief associate and the associate Nithin Panicker are assist the director for this film. Nithin Panicker is the son of the famous director Ranji Panicker. Rafeek Ahmad has written the lyrics of the song and Bijibala handles the music direction of this film.

The film Simhasanam has got around 5.5 crore business so far, even though the film is only at its initial stage. The movie has acquired Rs 2.7 crore as Satellite rights. And also a new distribution company from an American Malayalee bags the distribution right of this film for Rs 2.5 crore. Indian video right and foreign video rights are waiting to get sold. So we can hope this will bring more than 30 Lakhs too as a bonus. This is really a great achievement for Prithviraj film. The film is likely to release on 2012 itself. Lets see how it is perform in Kerala box office.
