Although Kerala has a wide array of incredibly mesmerizing places to visit, but there is one thing you simply cannot afford to miss – the Alappuzha backwaters. The Alappuzha is known for its large network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers. Kuttanad in Alappuzha is known as the ‘rice bowl of Kerala', as it is one of the few places in the world where agriculture is practiced a few feet below the sea level. It also hosts a range of water carnivals, known as the ‘snake boat races', which are a delight to witness.

The experience of flowing over the still waters and consuming the beauty of the palm trees, fisheries and the vast stretch of scintillating waters through the eyes is beyond the power of words to describe. Basking in the lap of nature, and watching the sun rise and go down the horizon while going around the sea in a boat will give you limitless pleasure.
