The Mar Athanasius College of Engineering was started in the year 1961. This is the first college in Asia which comes under the Christian Management. This college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and Accredited by NBA-AICTE. The Vision of this college is to provide the excellent education to all the students in this college. This college covers 25.3 hectares, in which administrative, instructional and amenities built 12765.51sq.m and the workshops, laboratories are built up around 14036.7sq.m and the sports area covers 20000sq.m.Infrastructure facilities of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering
It has an excellent infrastructure. This college lab is one of the best in Kerala College. This college is following the staff to student ratio as 1:12. This college is providing good placement training to all the students studying in this college. All the teaching staffs are highly qualified, experienced and dedicated; around 20% of the teaching staffs are PhD holders. This college has good facilities like computer labs, library, hostel, transportation, sports area and so many.
Library The library has one of the best libraries, it is well furnished and this library is fully computerized. This library has more than 75000 collection of books which consist of journals, periodicals etc. This college also subscribes many magazines. This library has different sections like reference section, periodical section, Reprographic section, Lending section and so many. This college also currently subscribed 38 national technical journals and 68 international journals. This library will open on Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5:30 pm and in Saturday 10 am to 3:30 pm.
Computer Lab The computer lab has latest configuration desktops and them also conducting short term computer courses to all the department students. Reference library is also available inside the computer lab. This lab contains totally 30 systems in which 12 systems are connected to WAN and 12 systems having internet facility. The internet connection speed is up to 1 Mbps. Additionally this lab contains 1 laser printer, 2 Inkjet printers, 3 dot-matrix printers, 1 scanners and UPS which can hold 3 hours backup.
IT Centre The Mar Athanasius College of Engineering has separate IT center with latest Pentium machines with latest configurations. This IT center has internet facility which has speeded of maximum 1 Mbps and downstream to 512 kbps. This IT center is equipped with 40 desktops which are connected through LAN. In this all the system has net facility and 2 systems are connected to WAN. This IT Center has facility like 1 laser printer, 1 dot matrix printer, 1 scanner and UPS with backup up to 3 hours.
Hostel The college has separate hostel facility for both the boys and girls. This college has 2 girl's hostel and 4 boy's hostel. Mess facility is also available for the hostel students. Other facilities available in this hostel are there is common TV room available, news paper, magazines, indoor games also available. Hostel warden will take care of the students activities; all the students who are staying in hostel have to follow the hostel rules.
Training & Placement Cell Its providing excellent placement training to all the students. They will make the students to prepare for the placement and motivate the students to get placed in the campus interview. They also providing trainings for the student's higher studies, the training are like GRE, GMAT, GATE and TOFEL.
