Muzhappilangad Beach is located in a small village of Kannur district, Muzhuppilangad beach is well known as the only drive in Beach in the state of Kerala, where in, you can drive upto 4 kilometers into the beach. The beach is located parallel to the national highway 17 which runs from Kannur and Thalassery

The nearest town is Thalassery which is about 7 kilometers from Muzhappilangad Beach, the district headquarters Kannur is 13 kilometers away.

How to reach the Muzhappilangad beach

You have to Reach either mangalore or Calicut / Kozhikode airport if you are travelling by air. The nearest will be Kozhikode at about 100 kilometers from the beach.
If you are travelling by rail, you can reach either Kannur or Thalassery and then drive down by hired vehicles.
If you are travelling by road, you can easily reach the beach by travelling in the national highway 17. While travelling from Thalassery you have to turn left just before the railway crossing you see after you cross the Moidu bridge.
There is an unpaved road leading through the coconut groves to the beach.
You can see a 5 kilometer long seashore, which lets you drive 4 kilometers in to the sands of the beach, which is bordered by black rocks. From the beach you can see a wide curve which provides you with a good view of the nearby town Kannur.
