David and Goliath: Soul Mates set to strike yet another gold

Anoop Menon who started his film career with Vinayan's Kattuchembakam has shown his caliber both on and behind the screen with his multifaceted personality striking gold in all the three areas his hand could reach bring an actor, screenplay writer and lyricist. It would be coincidence that Jayasurya who appeared along with Anoop in Kattuchembakam is able to prolong the onscreen chemistry even after a decade. Anoop is too lucky to get Jayasurya as his soul mate as the pair gears up to continue their visual miracle on silver screen. After getting locked in Cocktail, Beautiful and Trivandrum Lodge, the duo is set to continue their onscreen journey with Rajeevnath's 'David and Goliath'.

Rajeevnath, who won the Kerala State film award for Best Director for his directorial debut 'Thanal' is known for his majestic approach towards film making. All along his film career, Rajeevnath stood firm with his unique style of zooming a tale enclosing the director's cut on it. After an Olympics period, he is back in business with 'David and Goliath', a concept which is referred to portray the difference between strong and weak.

Riding on the top with novel ideas, Anoop Menon had done his homework well while preparing the screenplay for the movie getting in touch with Aji John for compiling the dialogues. David and Goliath, the bible characters do represent two sides of the same coin. If David embodied with his gentle appearance could strike down the mighty Goliath, the movie is given modern day interpretation to the concept of strength and weakness.

David, even under a premature stage had the will power to fight the battle against the person magnified to be stronger in outer shell. His single handed slingshot was much enough to bring down Goliath who was considered to be the brand ambassador of power and strength.

Through this movie, the script writer Anoop wants to focus that in every David there will be a mighty Goliath to be raised at time during difficult junctures. Jayasurya will don the character of David while Anoop Menon would get himself bonded as Goliath. Rajeevnath, who has already proved his mettle behind the camera, is helming the captain's role to give perfection as a complete entertainer.

An early seed for development of the theme was sown during the discussions involving Anoop and Jayasurya. Travelling at the same way length, their minds flashed a concept linked with success and failure, the prime reason for jealousy, ego and disputes. The story of David and Goliath set on the back drops of a church revolves around few characters who are well attached to it. Jayasurya will play the character role of David, an innocent countryside boy keeping a strong will and love in his heart.

It would be a pleasant surprise for Soumya, to play the role of Jayasury's lady love who joined the team to work as an Assistant Director to Rajeevnath. Anoop Menon will be characterized as Goliath, just opposite to Jayasurya's David.
Behind the screen of 'David & Goliath', Rajeevnath and Anoop Menon are making their third outing teamed as director and screenwriter.

After joining together for 'Pakal Nakshatrangal' and 'Anubhav', their next titled as 'Oru New York Sayahnam' will go on floor in April – May 2013. Other than Anoop, Jayasurya and Soumya, the movie stars P Balachandran, Indrans, Sukumari, Anumol, Lena, Vijesh Gopi, Master Dhananjai, Azeez Palakkad and Baby Minsara. Lena is appearing in a never seen grandiose character which will truly woo the audience.

Behind the camera it would be Jithu Damodar maintaining a worthy job excited to capture the natural beauty of Vagamon. The movie is being produced by Sudeep Kara't & Arun Nair under Salroza Motion pictures, Line of Colours and Chaya Films. It would be their third production after cashing for Janakan and Sandwich. For the lyrics of Kavalam Narayana Panicker, Anoop Menon, young musician Ratheesh Vega has moved the chords. The online promotion of the movie is handled by Entertainment Corner who had established as the leading online marketing media in Kerala.
