This article is related to margam kali which is an important art form of kerala.

Margam Kali

Kerala people are familiar with margam kali which is an important art form. It is interesting to note that this is a christian art form. Usually this is a group dance which is performed in the language of malayalam.

Actually what margam kali is?

First remember that the meaning of the word margam is path. It is interesting to note that this is a group dance performed by a dozen dancers. I hope most of us are familiar with the fact that the margam kali dancers sing & dance around a lighted nilavilakku. Do you know the costumes & instruments used in margam kali? If not , check the below points.

Costumes & Instruments used in Margam Kali

Remember that in margam kali the costumes used are traditional chatta & mundu. Also note that no instruments are used in this art form except the two small palm size cymbals. They are used by the person who sings the song in margam kali.

Important regarding margam kali

Margam kali is an interesting art form. Nowadays this is an important item in the youth festivals.
