Dr.K.T Jaleel one of few politicians who puts his world in to action, he was elected to the Kerala Assembly in the year 2006, defeating sitting MLA and Minister P. K. Kunhalikutty by margin of around 8000 votes. His incredible journey as the MLA of Kuttippuram , brought development to the Kuttipuram constituency like never before .

He started his political carrier through Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Later he came out of IUML protesting against the IUML leadership. He contested his election against General Secretary of IUML P. K. Kunhalikutty from Kuttipuram with the support of Left Democratic Front.
