Shankar - The return of the 1980 romantic star

Shankar became a hero in the Malayalam films through the romantic film of Fasil – 'Manhil Virinha Pookkal'. It was not his first film anyway. 'Sarapanjaram' was his first film. The director of that film was Hariharan. He acted in only scene in that film. Shankar became a romantic star in the minds of people through the film 'Manhil Virinha Pookkal'. It was a rush of films to the chocolate star then. 'Parayanum Vayya Parayathirikkanum Vayya','Punnaram Cholli Cholli','Aram Plus Aram- Kinnaram','Itha Innu Muthal','Chekkeranoru Chilla','Sandhyakku virinha Poovu','Oru Nokku Kanan','Patayottam','Poochaykoru Mookuthi','Ente Mohangal Poovirinhu','Engane Nee Marakkum' and 'Sukhamo Devi' are the super hit films of Shankar at that time.

Shankar was a busy film star at that time. He was busy than any of the current super stars. But Directors of films avoided Shankar from many sweet films even though people liked him very much. By the end of 1980s he was out of the Malayalam film industry. He was completely out of the cinemas in 1990s. But he was the super star even at that time. People couldn't forget him very fastly. They considered him as the hero even when he is not acting in films.
Many people didn't enquired the reasons for his failure. Some of his fans searched for the answers. They got the answer that he was concentrating more on business. But that was not the truth.

The truth was that Shankar got into a love affair. It resulted in marriage and problems started in his life. The relation didn't survived too much. By the time Shankar solved all problems and came back to the film field, his place were taken over by others. He acted in few films after that incident. He showed his presence in 'Gandharvam' and 'Manathe Kottaram'. But Shankar didn't continued in the film field after that. Evn though Shankar got some chances in the films he didn't continued saying that the roles were of less value. Shankar left the field from there and returned never after that.

But Shankar is back in the film field after a long gap. Shankar is acting in the film of Dr. R Prasannakumar which is named as 'Robo'. He is also showing his presence in mini shows as well. Shankar got more misfortunes than fortunes in his real life. Many ignored Shankar even though he has the talent to act. Nobody came to support him when he failed.
