Kerala Temple Treasure - Kerala CM Disagrees with CPM's View
Kerala Chief Minister disagrees with the CPM's suggestion for setting up a state appointed administration to control the assets of Padmanabhaswamy temple. He also told that the treasures found in the vaults are the assets of the temple, in response to CPM's saying that it belongs to the public.
UDF government gave their reply to CPM's stand regarding the Padmanabhaswamy temple. CPM chief secretary had told that the huge wealth found in Padmanabhaswamy temple are the property of the Public and the administration of the temple should be made like that of Sree Krishna temple in Guruvayur. UDF government told that they did not agree with CPM's view regarding the treasures found in the vaults.
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told that the treasures in the temple are the assets of the temple. He also told that his government did not agree with CPM's suggestion regarding the administration of the temple. He doesnot want to make a dispute regarding control of the trust which is being run by the Travancore family. He also mentioned that many Hindu outfits in the state have also came with their disapproval on CPM's demand for the formation of a state appointed administrative for the temple. But at last he told that the Supreme Court decision will be final and the state will follow according the rules laid down by the court.
Kerala Chief Minister replied this in response to CPM's suggestion for the formation of a state appointed administration for the temple as that of in Guruvayoor and for their remark that the treasure found in the temple should be treated as public assests.
