The Oommen Chandy government is necessary steps for the protection and security of the temple and the one lakh crore worth treasure unearthed from the temple. Durig the meeting convened by the Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for the The Kerala police has proposed for a five-tier security system for the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple following the recovery of several precious articles valued upto Rs one lakh crore during the process of inventory of the temple vaults.The estimated cost for enforcing the security is around 40 crore rupees. The Kerala police informed that this level of security enforcing will resist all sort of attacks from land, sea and air. As part of the first phase 60 surveillance cameras would be installed in the temple followed by radar, satellite monitoring systems, police told.

The committee appointed by the Supreme court had told the court to to provide more security from a central force, preferably CRPF team. But during the last verdict on the issues of the security of the temple, Supreme court directed that the security of the temple and the cost for the same should be under the concern of the Kerala government. Oommen Chandy had told that his government would take all necessary steps for the protection of the treasure. He had also informed his views against the CPM's proposal for setting up of a administration to control the temple like the Krishna Temple in Guruvayur.

The Oommen Chandy government has put forward a good step for the security of the temple showing his force can do same as the central force.
