After the blockbuster Chanthupottu Dileep and Lal Jose teaming up again for a musical love story titled Spanish Masala. As the name suggests the story has been said in the backdrop of Spain. By the film, Laljose is also introducing a foreign heroine for the second time after Arabikatha. The Austrian model Daniela Zacheri is the female lead of the film. Daniela is a Ballet and Hip hop dancer by proffession. Earlier, it was Amy Jackson (Madirasippattanam fame) who was supposed to do the role. Though, the chance went to Daniela.
Spanish Masala Movie Story
Spanish Masala tells the story of Charlie, played by Dileep, a mimicry artist who reaches Spain with his troupe. Getting fed up and desperately searching for a new life, he abandons his job and tries for another one. Even, without knowing the Spanish language & culture he would have to work there as a butler of a former Indian Ambassodor. There he soon fell in love with Kamila, the daughter of his boss. Kamila is very fond of Indian and the people there as she was born and raised there. Their love forms the rest of the story. Laljose portrays the love between two people from two distinct place and culture with the touch of humour and music. Kunchako Boban, who has earlier worked with Dileep in Dosth and Kalyanaraman also plays an important role, named Rahul.
Since the Dileep-Laljose pair has earlier presented the blockbusters like Meesamadhavan and Chandupottu, the expectations are high when Chakochan is also teaming up with them. Biju Menon, Clement Javier, Chris Hobbes, Gopalan, Nelson, Vinaya Prasad and Kalaranjini are the other major actors in the film.
The movie is scripted by the hitmaker Benny P Nayarambalam and produced by Naushad, Spanish Masala is the first Malayalam movie to be shot almost completely in Spain. Alappuzha and Kochi are also locations.
The movie is expected to hit the screens on November 4th.
