Ajmal Hassan and Baijyu Adithya to cash 25 crores for Samrajyam 2
The 2013 release malayalam movie Son of Alexander – Samrajyam 2 will have a budget which is currently estimated as 25 crores. It is known that Son of Alexander will be the costliest movie ever produced in malayalam. Unlike any other movies in malayalam, Samrajyam 2 had got viral publicity even before the hero was announced. Produced by Ajmal Hassan and Baiju Adithya, the movie would be an eye candy for movie lovers.
'Son of Alexander – Samrajyam 2' is the most anticipated malayalam movie which is slated to get released in 2013. The trend of making sequel is regular in Hollywood and bollywood. Malayalam movie industry also has undergone such experience in the recent past and the producers had got the fruit out of it. Travelling through the grapewine in the initial stage, Samrajyam 2 had created a lot of buzz from the day itself it was announced. The movie titled as 'Son of Alexander – Samrajyam 2' will be the sequal of Samrajyam which released 22 years ago. After 2 decades producer Ajmal Hassan is back in business cashing much more which is beyond imagination in malayalam movie industry.
Ajmal who turned to be a producer at the age of 18 with Samrajyam will have a companion, Baiju Adithya a Dubai based business man who joins together to produce the movie under the banner of Godson and Adena which comes with a record budget currently estimated to be 25 Crores. So the movie is to join Pazhasiraja and Cassanova which were produced at a healthy budget of 25 and 21 crores respectively.
The movie shoulders a crafted platform which is not yet experimented in malayalam movie industry. Popular tamil film maker Perarasu who holds a track record of successful movies and also credited for lifting up Vijay to the elite position in tamil film arena will step in as director with Samrajam 2 as his debut malayalam venture. Rising hero Unni Mukundan will don as 'Jordan'- Son of Aleaxander. Unni, the new sensation in malayalam who already proved his mettle as an action hero in 'Mallu Singh' will put an extra pain to fill the space left vacant by Mammootty 22 years ago in Samrajyam. 
With a tight schedule of 80 days, the movie starts rolling from December onwards with majestic locations set in Spain, Dubai, England, Australia, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Kochi. So the cast and crew will have a royal ride around the world shooting the movie which comes with a dazzling package of exotic locations, breath taking action moves and alluring songs. Adding a little bit flesh to the 25 crore budget, a fabulous set worth 3.5 crore is under construction at chennai.
Producer Ajmal Hassan is excited to bring the cream of the team which worked in Samrajyam. Sekhar V Joseph who worked as the associate cameraman in Samrajyam will be the chief Choreographer in its sequal. Sekhar is known for this work behind the camera for Rajanikanth's 'Chandramukhi'. The background score will be done by music maestro Ilayaraja.
Apart from the titans, the movie boosts of introducing a couple of youngsters who are ready to take this opportunity to prove their skill and talents. The screenplay of the movie is handled by young vibrant Muhammed Shafeeque Koonungal (M S K) while the tunes are set by R A Shafeer who is rich with a couple of projects including telugu movie 'Dunk U' and 'Kadhal Sevapp' a tamil movie.
The editing of the scenes will be safe in the hands of Shajith while the main attraction will be the presence of stunt master Rockey Rajesh who would make 'Unni Mukundan' act upon unusual aerial tricks which will truly woo the movie lovers. Trisha is casted as the lady love of the hero Jordan. Vijayaraghavan, Madhu and Geetha who were a part of Samrajyam will continue their travel in the sequel too. Son of Alexander is also touted to come with around 53 major artists in front of the camera.
Directed by Jomon, the gangster movie Samrajyam was released on 22nd June 1990 getting positive responses from around the state. The movie which smashed several records before declaring a box office was taken in hands by movie fans as it released in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu as dubbed version. Its sequel 'Son of Alexander – Samrajyam 2' will also get international screening including England, USA and Dubai.
With its release the movie will be in record books for being the first malayalam released in record theatres. Ajmal Hassan comes from the family of Ariffa Hassan who is known as a film producer. Samrajyam 2 being the 44th movie produced by the family shoulders huge expectations. The producers would be lending the lion's share of the budget for graphics and also combining the latest technology embedded in the movie.
