' AMMA's Kerala Strikers' new name of Kerala CCL Team

Kerala Strikers, the Celebrity Cricket League team from Mollywood, is going to have change in its name. The team will be named as AMMA's Kerala Strikers. The decision was announced by Mr. Shaji PM , the co founder of Kerala Strikers, after a meeting between he and AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists). The new logo in which the word 'AMMA' imprinted will be released soon.

The Kerala Strikers is owned and promoted by Superstar Mohanlal, Lizzy Priyadarsan and Shaji PM (a Gulf based businessman) and associates with AMMA. Mohanlal is the team captain while team players where the vice captain is Indrajith. The team also include Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Bala, Manikkuttan, Saiju Kurup, Bineesh Kodiyeri and other young stars of Malayalam cinema.

The team jersey and current logo were officially launched by Megastar Mammootty at Kochi in an colourful function in last month. The jersey have primarily two colours Green and Yellow, similar to the Australian team jersey. The new name is suggested to imply the association of the team to AMMA since all players are the members of AMMA. More than Rs 90 lakhs have been paid as franchisee fees for Kerala Strikers. And, the owners have an investment of more than Rs 2 crores in the team.

Former Cricketer Mr. Pankaj Chandrasenan Nair is coaching Kerala Strikers while AMMA secretary Edavela Babu serves as the team Manager. Lakshmi Rai and Bhavana are the brand ambassodors of the team. Kerala Strikers had played against Mudra from Bangalore and Kerala Ranji Vetarans as practice matches. They won both games. The next practice matches will take place on 9th and 12th of November. Their first CCL match is against the Tollywood team Telugu Warriors on 21st January 2012.
