Mohanlal to be hero in Shankar's first Malayalam film

Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal will be joining hands with the Tamil super director Shankar in a Malayalam movie what would be Shankar's first Malayalam project. The movie is also reported to feature Katrina Kaif and Jackie Chan. Read more details below.

It usually takes the cinema industry and the film lovers by storm when big names unite. The Malayalam cinema has witnessed many such big partnerships in the past. Now, a spreading news is taking the Malayalam audiences into rapture. If the coming reports are true, Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal will be joining hands with the super director Shankar. That too in a Malayalam movie what would be Shankar's first Malayalam project. Shankar, one of the most successful directors in India, has directed only 11 films. His latest flick Nanban, starring Vijay, is now running housefull in theatres. He also boasts to have directed the most expensive Indian movie, Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran.

The discussions regarding the movie are going on, as reported. The movie will be produced by Ravichandran under the banner of Aascar Films. Apart from Malayalam, the film is also supposed to be made in Tamil and Telugu, simultaneously. The name of the Tamil version is announced to be 'Thalaivan Irukkindran'. The movie will feature Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan as the male protagonist. The young star Prabhas will be the lead of Telugu version. Adding more colours, the reports suggests that Katrina Kaif will be the female lead in all the three versions of the project. Katrina has already done a Malayalam film with Megastar Mammootty. That was Balram v/s Tharadas, directed by I V Sasi. Later, she went on to be the most wanted actress in Bollywood.

The news doesn't end there. It is also reported that Hollywood action hero Jackie Chan will be also a part of all the three films. Mohanlal and Jackie Chan had been reported to be uniting for the project Nairsan that is on shelves now. Shankar's usual choice AR Rahman will be the music composer of the films.
