After delivering an array of interesting characters in his previous ventures, actor Kalabhavan Mani is all set to surprise the moviegoers with yet another special performance in his upcoming flick directed by debutante Aneesh Varma. Tilted 'Yathra Chodikkathe', the movie spans into several problems faced by the women in the society.
Balan (Kalabhavan Mani), a normal worker from Kuttanad lives happily with his family which consists of his wife Indira and daughter Ponnu. Being much brilliant in studies, Ponnu is liked by her neighbours and people living in the locality. Being a shining star, Ponnu got the love from all. Balan, being as a proud father was high dreams about his only daughter.
As she completed her school education with flying colours, Balan made all arrangements to give her good edification. Ponnu got admission at a popular college in Ernakulam. Joining the college, Ponnu got acquainted with the new lifestyle and behaviour. Modern way of life eventually forced her to keep her away from parents and loving villagers. The movie portrays the consequent conflicts in an emotional manner.
Scripted by Haripad Harilal, 'Yathra Chodikkathe' also zooms into the problems faced by the women in the current socio-political environment. Reena Basheer gives life to Indira and Ammu plays Ponnu. The movie is being produced by Shibu Maveli under the banner of Rainbow Cinema. Sadhiq, Suryakanth, Haripad Sreekumar, Manuraj, Anil Panachooran, Kannan Pattambi, Joli Muthedan, Gopukeshav, Surya Kiran, Nisha Sarang and Meenu Kurian would give life to other prominent roles.
For the lyrics Anil Panachooran and Sudhamshu, the tunes are being set by Kaithapram Vishwanathan and Ajith Sukumaran. The camera will be helmed by Ramachandran. After 'Kaumadikuttan', Kalabhavan Mani dons the role of a normal worker living in Kuttanad. The shooting of the movie has been wrapped up and post production works is at the final stage.
'Yathra Chodikkathe' which is creamed with emotions and suspense is expected to be an eye opener to the society. After the final cut, the movie would reach theatres very soon.
