Story of Payyans
Payyans says the story of a young man named Josy played by Jayasurya. Josy is the son of John Varghese (Lal) and Padma(Rohini). He is his mother's pet. She always supports her son. The first half of the film says the relationship between mother and son. His father sent him to Engineering College to become an engineer. But he desperately fails there. His dream is to become a businessman. Josy starts many business, but fails in every attempt and comes in a very tragedy situation. But in the second half, Josy's father tries to make him understand about life. The second half says the love between Josy and his father John Varghese.
Anjali is the lady love of Josy. Watching Payyans is worth watching today's generation in the screen. Jayasurya was superb in narrating the each and every single moments of our own life. The way Josy coming to his home after drunk, the way he goes outside at night without saying to parents, calling his lady love in the phone.. everything is superb. Jayasurya was awesome in the comedy scenes just by portraying each one of the new generatioin. The climax of Payyans s also great. Thanks for the screenplay of Leo. Director has told the story in a colourful atmosphere making the movie a complete entertainment. Performance of Artists in Payyans
We must appreciate the director Leo Theddas for his excellent script and colourful direction. Seeing the film one can't imagine that this is only the second film of the director. Every shots are very sharp. He is able to give us the full emotions of parents, friends etc in various situation through the movie. The star cast of the film also deserves a very good clapping.
This is another golden role in the film carrier of young actor Jayasurya, who's always keen to take varieties of roles. He is great in mimicking the modern generation. He showed us that he can handle good comedy scenes very easily. There is much to watch the sentimental scenes and bond of love between him and his family. Jayasurya is simply superb in the movie.
Although Anjali is the heroine casted againt Jayasurya in the move. She has very little to do in the movie. Her presence in the movie adds more colours and charm to the entertainment.
Lal's performace as father of Josy and Rohini as mother of Joshy has been great. Lal shows the real life father's feelings and approach towards their son/daughter. The great motherhood love between Rohini and Jayasurya is the highlight of the first half. In the second half, Lal takes away the show with his nice performance. Other artists like Lalu Alex, Suraj etc are also performed well.Verdict of Payyans
Payyans will definitely be a super hit film giving Jaysurya his first hit in 2011 from the first release itself. The response of the movie as "superb entertainment" is flying through mobiles and internet after the first show itself. Saying the story of modern youth accompanied with comedy and sentiments make the film worth watching. Every artists are good at their roles. Climax of Payyans is great. The movie says the message of generation gap and parents involvement in the life of their children.

Negetive aspects of Payyans
To be frank, there is no much flop scenes in the movie. Film is lagging in one or two scenes and that can be easily negelected seeing the other parts of the movie. Suraj is little over in the movie.
Rating of Payyans: 4/5
Anyway, the campus and youngsters has taken the movie in their shouders and it's a good sign for Malayalam film industry and Jayasurya of course. Payyans is running successively in theaters near you. Watch it and enjoy!
