National Film Awards 2011 and Phalke Award distibuted
The 2011 National Film Awards gave us more proud because Malayalam film industry proved that they are still with the value-worth movies. The film 'Aadaminte Makan Abu', its director Saleem Ahammed and the actor Salim Kumar proved their talents well.
The National Film awards and Dadasahib Phalke awards are distributed by our Honorable President Prathiba Patil. The ceremony was held on "Vijhyan Bhavan". The most honorable Dadasahib Phalke Award was for K. Balachander, who was a famous director in Tamil. This is the highest award of India's film industry.
The award for best film was received by the director and associate producer of the film Aadaminte Makan Abu, Mr. Saleem Ahammed and Ashraf Bedi. The best director award was received by the Tamil director Mr. Vetrimaaran for his film 'Aadukalam'. The best actors were Mr. Saleem Kumar (Aadaminte Makan Abu) and Tamil actor Mr. Dhanush (Aadukalam). The best actresses were Madhali (Marathi actress) and Sharanya Ponvannan (Tamil- Malayalamn actress).
Malayalam film got 16 national film awards. It is really a proud moment and an encouragement for Malayalam film industry. As the director Saleem Ahammed's first film got the best national film award it is also an encouragement for the new comers.
